Allyson Felix

Allyson Melissa Felix was born in Los Angeles, California on the 18th of November, 1985. The father of her Paul Felix was an ordained minister at the Master's Seminary in Sun Valley as well as her mother Marlean Felix was a school teacher at Balboa Magnet Elementary School. Felix was an athletically inclined child and found her passion of sprinting while during her time at Los Angeles Baptist High School. Within 10 weeks of her initial tryout, she placed third in the 200-meter race at the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championship. Felix, who graduated high school in 2003 signed a sports contract with Adidas. She then attended the University of Southern California and completed her studies in elementary education. The following year, Felix won the first Olympic medal at the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens Greece setting an all-time junior world record taking 200 metres in 22.18 seconds. She became the youngest world champion in the 200 meters at the 2005 Helsinki World Championships and defended her title again in 2007, beating her long-time Jamaican opponent Veronica Campbell. Felix consistently placed within the top three in all event she competed in at Beijing London Rio de Janeiro Tokyo.
